2017 UPCOMING EVENTS
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Join Cape Cod PATH (People Against Trafficking Humans) for a candlelight vigil to recognize the 21 million people currently enslaved in modern-day slavery, which exists everywhere across the globe, including on beautiful Cape Cod.
DATE: January 20, 2018, 4:30-5:30 pm, Hyannis Village Green
Support Cape Cod PATH’s mission to eradicate human trafficking on the Cape through education and awareness. The typical trafficking victim is a girl age 14-17, though boys and transgendered youth are also vulnerable. Because survivors of sex or labor trafficking are often homeless and arrive at a safe house or human service agency with only the clothes on their back, Cape Cod PATH is collecting care bags that can help their recovery begin. If you would like to donate a care bag, please bring them to Barnstable Police Headquarters, 1200 Phinney’s Lane, Hyannis, attention Officer Katie Parache.
Here’s a list of the items needed for each care bag: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, hair brush, 3 pairs underwear, 3 pairs socks, pair sweat pants, package baby wipes. hair elastics, chapstick,,water bottle, notepad, 2 pens, stuffed animal, note of encouragement.

JAN 31, 2016: Fundraiser – On Sunday, January 31, we screened Not My Life at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. The film is an engaging documentary that examines human trafficking in its variety of forms. After the film we had a panel discussion with two survivors from our region and Peter DiMarzio, a Victim Assistance Specialist with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations. Proceeds from the event were gathered to fund the GIFT Box in May.
